Screening that actually screens
An intake form is not a medical history. Sitting across from someone who asks follow-up questions catches what a checkbox misses — thyroid history, gallbladder issues, medication interactions, prior surgery.

An RN-led program you attend in person, in Demorest — screening, dosing and follow-up all handled locally.
Local program
Weight loss medication is easy to order online and hard to manage well. Habersham County residents have plenty of ways to get a GLP-1 shipped to the house; what is harder to find locally is someone who will look at your history first, watch how you respond, and change the plan when it needs changing.
That is what this program is. You are seen in Demorest by Lisa Downs Smith, RN, and the practice’s medical assistant, and you keep coming back in person for the length of the program. Nothing is prescribed at a first visit until your history has been reviewed properly.
For medication detail — how semaglutide and tirzepatide differ, dose schedules, and what side effects look like week to week — see our medical weight loss page. This page covers what the program looks like as a Habersham County resident.
In person vs. mail order
An intake form is not a medical history. Sitting across from someone who asks follow-up questions catches what a checkbox misses — thyroid history, gallbladder issues, medication interactions, prior surgery.
Nausea, reflux and constipation are the most common reasons people stop a GLP-1. Locally, those are addressed at your next visit or a phone call — often by adjusting the titration rather than stopping treatment.
Standard escalation schedules suit some people and overwhelm others. Because we see your weight trend and hear how the week actually went, we can slow down, hold a dose, or move forward as appropriate.
Rapid loss without adequate protein and resistance training costs you muscle. Every visit covers nutrition and activity, because the medication manages appetite — it does not decide what you eat.
Individual results vary and no outcome is guaranteed. Medication is prescribed only where clinically appropriate after an in-person evaluation.

Local questions
All About Monroe runs an RN-led weight loss program from 1507 Central Ave in Demorest, serving Cornelia, Clarkesville, Baldwin, Alto, Mount Airy and the rest of Habersham County. Every program starts with an in-person visit.
You are seen in person by someone who knows your history, rather than filling out a form and receiving a box. Your weight, side effects and dose are reviewed face to face, changes can be made the same week, and you can reach a real person locally when something is not going well.
The first visit is a full intake: medical history, current medications and supplements, weight history, what you have already tried, and your goal. If a GLP-1 medication is appropriate for you, we cover how it works, what side effects to expect and what the follow-up schedule looks like before anything is started.
No. Clients travel from across Habersham County and beyond — Cornelia is about five minutes away and Clarkesville about fifteen, and clients also come from Toccoa and Gainesville. What matters is being able to make the in-person follow-up visits.
Coverage for weight loss medication varies widely by plan and many plans exclude it entirely. We can tell you what the program costs directly so you can compare it against whatever your insurance does or does not cover.
We will tell you. Certain medical histories make GLP-1 medications inappropriate, and screening for that is the reason the first visit exists. Where medication is not the right route, we discuss what else is realistic rather than prescribing anyway.
